Welcome to Student Organizations at Cornell University! With over 1,000 student organizations on Cornell's campus, you can certainly find something to do, day or night! Our staff is here to assist you, whether you would like to find that perfect group to join or if you'd like to start a new organization.
Student organization registration is coordinated by the Campus Activities Office (CAO). Campus Activities is located on the 5th floor of Willard Straight Hall, and staff members are available to work with student leaders to register their groups, assist with event planning, team building, or other issues related to their student organization. Though most information can be found on this website, students are welcome to stop by the Campus Activities Office to learn more about student organizations, how to get involved, or how to start a new student organization.
Dear student leaders,
On July 7, 2015, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into legislation new mandates for sexual violence prevention on college campuses. As of October 5, 2015, colleges and universities in New York must require all student leaders and officers of student organizations recognized or registered with the institution, as well as those seeking recognition or registration, complete training on domestic violence, dating violence, stalking or sexual violence prevention prior to receiving recognition or registration.(Article 129-B, Implementation by Colleges and Universities of Sexual Assault, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, and Stalking Prevention and Response, Policies, and Procedures).
This is to make you aware that all organizations applying for registration or recognition after January 1, 2016 will be required to attest to completion of training for student officers. This is a standard part of the registration and renewal process. In order for your organization's registration or renewal to be complete, each student officer will have to attest to having completed the required Sexual Violence Prevention Training offered by Cornell.
Please feel free to contact us in 521 Willard Straight Hall, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
