Event Schedule

We organize our signature event every semester: the Fall Concert is usually scheduled in September, and the Spring Concert in April. We bring world-renowned artistes of Indian music and dance to perform at these events. Our usual venue, Barnes Hall, offers a cozy environment for our audience to get to know the artistes up close and personal. These events would not be possible without the exemplary work by our volunteers each semester! Consider signing up to be a volunteer if you are in Cornell, would like to interact with the artistes better, or would simply like to help with these events.

In addition, almost every month that the university is in session, we arrange baithaks or student recitals. Baithaks are informal gatherings where the boundaries between performers and listeners are blurred; everyone experiences the music together, leading to a very different experience from that of a performance in a large auditorium. Think jam sessions, or bhajan gatherings, but with different kinds of Indian music.

Student recitals are more traditional performances in larger halls, where students showcase their talents in an informal, low-pressure environment. In the past, we have had some phenomenal performances from students, who went on to perform in jugalbandi's with the artistes who visited for our signature events and more!

This semester, we are also trying to arrange a couple of lecture demonstrations! Stay tuned for more details, and visit the Contact page to sign-up for Baithaks and Student recitals.
